Tequila Herradura Online Makeover
TEQUILA HERRADURA STARTS THE DECADE
TOUTING ITS HERITAGE WITH ONLINE MAKEOVER
Revamped Herradura.com Doubles as Sophisticated Storyteller
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 11, 2010) - Tequila Herradura, one of the oldest and most respected 100 percent blue agave tequila brands since 1870, announces the launch of its redesigned Web site, www.Herradura.com. Intended as a valuable resource for adults interested in learning more about the history of the iconic Mexican spirit, the online portal was created by Clickspring Design, Inc.
Featuring a stylish and sophisticated appearance, Herradura.com places emphasis on the tequila heritage and craft, from the selection of the best blue agave and the cooking of the piñas in clay ovens to the Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM) that ensures the distillery has complied with standards set forth by the Mexican government. The Web site also commemorates the saga, legends and mysteries of Herradura's Hacienda San Jose del Refugio through brightly-hued photographs that pop against its dark wallpaper, subtly enhanced by intricate papel picado, or perforated paper, designs by Mexican artist Margarita Fick.
"During the past 140 years Herradura has enjoyed tremendous good fortune, anchored in the rich and often fantastical history of tequila country, as well as the efforts of numerous generations that have worked hard to maintain an unsurpassed level of craftsmanship and quality. With such a deep-seeded respect for our heritage, it was important for us that our revamped Web site exudes the essence of Tequila Herradura," said John Hayes, managing director for Casa Herradura Tequilas. "We're confident that the updated portal not only provides consumers with an intimate look at our brand, but also plays up the importance of toasting to those who have come before us."
By visiting the redesigned Web site, visitors 21 and older will discover how to differentiate between the various Herradura expressions (blanco, reposado, añejo and Selección Suprema), each of which have received countless industry awards. Additionally, they will be exposed to proper tequila drinking etiquette, including tasting sessions, and a collection of tempting cocktail recipes that go beyond the traditional margarita.
"In designing the Web site, we were inspired by the mingling and juxtaposition of the realistic and the fantastic found so resolutely in the assembled stories of the Hacienda San Jose del Refugio which has helped define the character and personality of Tequila Herradura," said Carrie Kleban, global marketing director for Casa Herradura Tequilas. "Each section of the Web site was specifically designed to accentuate the epic drama reflective of Herradura's ageless appeal."
